Hi, I’m Kerry, the designer and illustrator behind Studio of Considered Things. My work draws from nature and botanical forms, with a deep respect for historical and vintage design. I focus on hand-drawn detail and layered texture to bring richness and depth to my illustrations.
Color is central to my process. I aim for palettes that feel balanced and livable, neither too bold nor too subdued. My goal is to create designs that adapt easily to different aesthetics, from minimalist to maximalist.
I work in both traditional and digital media, from gouache, watercolor and collage, to Photoshop and Illustrator.
I live with my husband in an urban neighborhood of Wilmington Delaware. We make our home in a 120-year-old Victorian that’s perpetually under renovation. When I’m not in the studio, I’m in the garden, cooking something new, or lost in an antique or thrift shop hunting for treasure.
In Studio Notes, I share my work, process, and the discoveries I make along the way. I also write about running a creative business with ADHD, plus posts on my garden and the DIY and décor projects around my home.
If you’re a fellow designer, maker, interior designer, or art buyer, I hope you find something here that resonates. Thanks for stopping by.
