I was on a roll a while ago but now it seems I’m not. I’m not sure why the heck I decided to obsess over this image of the Painted Lady Butterfly, but I did. I go so mesmerized by all the detail that I just kept adding more and more and more detail.

It’s beautiful and I love it. But it’s not the style or vibe I want to pursue. So after spending way too many hours trying to get every last little dot and hair on her, I re-drew her and simplified the image quite a bit. I think the second image is closer to what I’m after but it’s still a little too “buttoned down” and tight for my liking. I’ll try again maybe later after I’ve had a few glasses of wine. 😜
